year-end showcase - June 17, 2027

All dancers, including adults, will have an option to participate in our Year-End Showcase in June. Students will be notified in March about the costume fee, which will be added to their account at that time. The fee will range from $40 to $80, depending on the class.

Flexible cancellation terms

Free Trials

Tuition is calculated based on the number of scheduled classes during the dance season. Holiday closures and studio breaks are excluded from tuition calculations. 

Annual tuition is divided into equal monthly payments, with final payment required by May 1st
Students may join throughout the season. Tuition will be prorated based on the number of classes remaining

Tuesday–Thursday monthly $68.00 + HST
Friday class monthly $66.11 + HST

The monthly tuition examples shown above are based on nine (9) monthly payments. Actual payment amounts may vary depending on the date of registration and the number of remaining payments in the season.

Multi-Class or Family Discounts

Save on total tuition when you register for multiple classes or family members:

  • 2 registrations: 5% off
  • 3 registrations: 10% off
  • 4 registrations: 15% off
  • 5+ registrations: 20% off (max discount)

Payment Method – Monthly Auto-Pay
All registrations are automatically set to monthly payments using a credit card. Registration fee is payable at the time of registration. The remaining balance is divided evenly across the remaining months of the dance season and processed at the beginning of each month. A 2.4% POS surcharge applies to each monthly credit card transaction.
Postdated checks, e-transfers and cash are accepted as well and do not incur any additional card processing fees. Postdated cheques may be used for monthly payments. E-transfers and Cash are accepted only for payment in three (3) equal installments (example - due on the 1st of September, December and March). To request a change from the default monthly Auto-Pay method, please complete your registration first, then email us to update your payment preference.
Late Payment Policy
For accounts on Auto-Pay, the system will automatically attempt to process the payment up to four times, with a notification sent to the parent after each failed attempt. If all attempts are unsuccessful, a $30 late fee will be automatically applied.
For all other payment methods, if payment is not received within 7 days of the due date, a $30 late fee will also apply.
Continued missed payments may result in suspension from classes until the account is brought up to date.

refund policy

Students can withdraw from the recreational program by providing a two-week written notice to our email. For the competitive program, refunds are available within 4 weeks from the start of the season in September, also with a written notice. Eligible students will receive a refund minus the cost of any classes already attended. After March 1st, enrollment fees and costume fees are non-refundable.

The Registration Fee is non-refundable.

Payment information

Fees are automatically charged on the due date:
Fees will be automatically charged to the credit card on file 3 days after registration. Monthly and split payments are available by request only. Please email us after completing your registration if you would like to arrange one of these options.

Monthly Payment (credit card only):
Enrollment online with Auto-Pay. The total fee is divided by the number of remaining months until the end of the session and automatically deducted from the credit card on file each month.

Split Payments(e-transfer or cash):
The class fee can be divided into 2 or 3 installments upon request. Please email us after completing your registration to arrange this payment option.

DAY CAMPS
Cancel 30 days or more before the beginning of the camp to get full refund, less the camp deposit; 50% refund if cancelled 15 to 30 days prior to the start date; non-refundable if cancelled 14 days or less prior to the start date of the program.
$40 camp deposit is not refundable.

SLEEPAWAY CAMPS
before JANUARY 1: Full refund of all fees, less a $50 cancellation fee (per camper).
JANUARY 1 – MARCH 1: Full refund of all fees less a $100 cancellation fee (per camper).
MARCH 1 - MAY 1: Full refund of all fees less a $150 cancellation fee (per camper).
MAY 1 to JUNE 30: get 50% of camp fee refunded
after JULY 1: fees are non-refundable.

Enrollment for Auto-Pay is required for some programs, i.e. Adults Sessions, Summer classes. If you do not wish to enroll in Auto-Pay,  please contact us by email to process your registration manually.

We accept the following methods of payment: E-transfer, cash, cheques and credit cards.

E-transfers should be sent to info@schoolofmoderndance.com

Cash - exact change only - use an envelope and clearly identify the student's name and class details, with the amount written on it.

Cheques should be made payable to "School of Modern Dance Ottawa Inc."

Credit Card and Auto-Pay payments automatically incur a 3% POS surcharge per transaction.
No refunds, credits or make-up classes will be provided for missed classes due to student absences or classes cancelled due to extreme weather, natural disasters or any unforeseen events which will make it impossible to host classes safely. All fees paid for costumes, performances or competitions are not refundable.
